Welcome to the online home of Scotland Elementary School. We are one of nine schools in the Ridgefield Public Schools, located at the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in Connecticut. We serve 372 kindergarten through fifth grade students, preparing our youngsters for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.

Our website is full of helpful information that will assist you in navigating through your child’s elementary years. Get to know more about our school and get in touch with our staff members. Each teacher has a classroom website, allowing you a glimpse into what your child is doing at school each day. Be sure to contact us if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping by!

A Message from Our Teachers and Staff

Dear Scotland Students and Families,

Welcome to the start of a new school year!

I am very excited to join your community as the new Scotland Elementary Interim Principal and greatly look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks! Before coming to Ridgefield, I was the principal of Morris Street School in Danbury, CT for 21 years. While I truly enjoyed my experiences in Danbury, it is an honor to be in Ridgefield and continue my work as an educator at Scotland Elementary School, helping to build a strong and inclusive educational community.

Efficient and open communication methods are an essential part of maintaining a comfortable and trusted school environment. I encourage you to follow the news and events on this website, stay informed by reading the RPS monthly newsletter, and email or speak with me and the SES teachers frequently.

We welcome parent involvement and truly believe that your presence, participation, and continued support will help your children acquire necessary tools, develop essential skills, and achieve more in academics, sports, and the arts. Please consider joining our PTA and discovering other ways you can help and get involved!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns as we move into the 2018-19 school year.

Sincerely,

Bill Santarsiero
